Forward, Eric Hassli, joined FC Dallas today after a trade was agreed upon with his former club, Toronto FC. A quiet individual off the field, Hassli is a fierce competitor and a committed team player who bleeds for his badge. He registered 5 goals and 5 assists in 2012 while fighting through injuries. And he was also a finalist for FIFA’s Puskas Goal of the Year in 2012 following his powerful volley in the Amway Canadian Championship final while playing for Vancouver against Toronto FC (prior to joining the Ontario club later in the year). The recent trade to Dallas for the exciting French goal scorer involved Toronto FC receiving future considerations in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft.
Hassli departs Toronto thankful for his time with the club. He shares his wishes for success to former teammates and management at Toronto FC and to the club supporters that join the players in fighting for the shirt every week. He now looks forward to his next career challenge and is excited to join his new club for preseason. He remains focused on contributing to FC Dallas’ success on the field in 2013 and is eager to prove himself and earn the support of his teammates, managers and passionate fan base of his new MLS club:
“I’m thankful for my time in Toronto, I wish them all the best for 2013, I’m now excited to join my new teammates in Dallas for the preseason and focus on contributing to the club success this year!!!!”
