Thomas Enevoldsen recently concluded his first campaign in US leagues having been named USL First Team honors, finishing the season with 20 goals and 10 assists and leading Orange County SC to the Western Conference final. Enevoldsen is a former Danish National Team player and will be joining Indy Eleven on a free contract as the USL club pushes forward with its ambitious plans. Enevoldsen will join Martin Rennie’s side and looks to replicate the success of his first USL season as the team prepares for its own run at the USL championship in 2019.
On the heels of the 2018 Latvian Football Federation election of former Nova Sports Group client, Kaspars Gorkss, another former Nova Sports Group client has been selected to a prominent position of international football leadership. Gregg Berhalter was named the new USA men’s national team head coach on Wednesday. He is two-time World Cup veteran for the United States and spent most of his career as a player in Holland, England and Germany before working with Nova Sports Group to join the LA Galaxy in 2009. After retiring, Berhalter earned his FIFA Pro License and UEFA A License throughout eight years as a manager in Sweden and in the United States.
Former Nova Sports Group client, Kaspars Gorkss has embarked on a new phase of his career in professional football. He was elected the new President of the Latvian Football Federation and will serve a 2-year term. Gorkss is the prior captain fo the national team in Latvia, appearing 89 times between 2005 and 2017 and his career spanned the world from England to the Czech Republic and Sweden.
Thomas Enevoldsen, Orange County SC’s technically adept attacking striker who has previously logged matches in Europa League and Champions League matches on the wing and up top for AaB Aalborg, is off to a hot start in his arrival to the United States. He has logged four goals and one assist in the first four matches of his inaugural campaign for Orange County SC, including a hat trick versus Tulsa Roughnecks on Saturday. He also tallied the game’s only goal in OCSC’s win over Oklahoma City FC earlier in the week. Enevoldsen joined the California club in mid-February 2018 and brings years of European experience with him, having played for clubs in the top leagues of Denmark, Belgium and Holland. Only 30 years old, Enevoldsen was previously a part of the Aalborg side that won the Danish Superliga and later advanced to group stage matches of Champions League competition in 2008/2009. He also featured in the 2010 World Cup for the Danish National Team.
Martin Vingaard, a traditional two-way box-to-box central midfielder from Denmark, has agreed to join the Tampa Bay Rowdies on a free transfer in August 2016 on a 2.5 year contract. Vingaard has been capped by the Danish National team on 9 occasions and has previously played for FC Nordsjaelland and FC Copenhagen in the Danish Superleague. During his time with FC Copenhagen, Vingaard played 140 matches, registered 22 goals and 25 assists, won 2 Danish Cups and 4 Danish Championships. He was also named as a finalist for Danish footballer of the year in 2010.
31 years old, Vingaard brings with him big competition experience and leadership having played in 37 Champions League and European League matches and he has also recently served as captain of his side at FC Nordsjaelland prior to moving to the United States. He has played with the Danish National Team program at the U19, U21 and full senior national team level registering his first and only international goal on the senior level against Poland in 2008.
Vingaard will join Joe Cole in the midfield for the Rowdies during the summer transfer window and will embark on a new career challenge in the United States. As a player, Vingaard is widely recognized for his savvy midfield management, smooth technical ability and an exciting attacking vision.
Amro Tarek, a left footed defender currently registered with Real Betis in Spain’s La Liga, has joined Columbus Crew SC of Major League Soccer on a free loan for 2016. Tarek, 23, has featured for the Egyptian U20 National Team and has previously played for reserve teams in Germany (Wolfsburg and Freiburg) and more recently played for El Gouna of the Egyptian Premier Leauge prior to his arrival in Sevilla.
The Egypt senior national side has recently called on Tarek to join the player pool for 2016. He holds dual nationality in the United States and Egypt and per public records will be the first Egyptian player in Major League Soccer. At 6’2″, Tarek is a hard tackling defensive player that can play as a center back or a left defender. He will join the Crew on a free loan for 12 months.
Markus Neumayr has transferred to FC Luzern of the Swiss Super League on a deal that will keep him at the club through June 2017. Neumayr is a former German Youth National Team player at all levels and a product of the Manchester United academy having captained the Reserve Team during the 2005-2006 season when Man U won the English Premier League Reserve Championship.
Neumayr has more recently served as Captain of FC Vaduz and has registered more 21 goals and 30 assists as an attacking central midfielder since arriving at the club in July 2013. Neumayr joins German manager Markus Babbel in his side’s push to grab a spot in European play for next season. As of Neumayr’s transfer, the club sits in fourth spot of the Super League table and will continue on into the semi-final round of the Swiss Cup.
Ivory Coast International and former West Ham defender, Guy Demel, has signed a short-term contact with Dundee United of the Scottish Premier League through the end of the current season (2016). Demel previously featured as a right defender and as a central defender for the Ivory Coast National Team (2010 World Cup and multiple African Nations Cups. He has 35 official caps for the Les Elephants. He will be signed by Dundee United to play as a defensive central midfielder where he began his career in France and earned a transfer to Arsenal at the age of 19. He played multiple seasons in the German Bundesliga with Dortmund and Hamburg where he featured as both a midfielder and a defender and registered in multiple European cups.
Latvia National Team Captain and former Reading defensive stalwart, Kaspars Gorkss, has completed a free transfer to Dukla Prague of the top flight in the Czech Republic. The central defender is widely known to be a hard nosed tackler with an unrivaled work ethic on the pitch. A legend in Latvia, Gorkss has also had a documentary recently released highlighting his ascendancy at Queens Park Rangers and Reading within the English football leagues.
Former USA National Team Captain and German 1 Bundesliga veteran, Thomas Dooley, was named the new Head Coach of the Philippines National Team for 2014. He takes over for the Azkals ahead of the AFC Challenge Cup taking place in the Maldives in May, and is being brought on to push the national side towards qualification for the Asian Cup
Dooley had previously been an assistant for the USA U20 NT and holds a UEFA “A” License from the German Football Federation (DFB). Dooley featured in the 1994 and 1998 World Cup as a player for the USA and featured 81 times for the side overall. He was also inducted to the USA Soccer Hall of Fame in 2010 and had earned a number of accolades throughout his career in Europe with FC Kaiserslautern and Schalke 04 where he won a German Bundesliga Championship and a European Championship respectively. He was also an important member of the Major League Soccer during its early stages where he was also named to the leagues Best XI and MLS All-Star team on a number of occasions.
